In the upcoming ITMA 2019 in Barcelona, Saurer will present a range of new products, demonstrating its continual drive for innovation to customers and the industry.
Simona Gambini, Head of Corporate Communications, Saurer AG apprised Textile Today on their company’s recent activities, their expectation from ITMA and their new innovations and technologies what they will show at ITMA 2019.
Textile Today: Please update us on your company’s recent activities.
Simona: Last year, we launched the Saurer Technology Centre, which works together with engineers across the group to ensure its R&D efforts benefit our customers optimally. It also incorporates the Sensors Business Line, which develops technologies for yarn quality control.
We are making good progress on improving existing sensors and will soon launch a revolutionary product, the likes of which does not exist on the market.
Textile Today: What are you expecting from ITMA this time?
Simona: We are eager to demonstrate to our visitors how we have repositioned ourselves as a solutions provider. Based on customer feedback, we are adding to our existing portfolio to make us a full liner from bale to yarn. First reactions indicate that we are on the right track – at ITMA we would like to receive additional in-depth feedback to ensure our offering really suits our clients’ needs.
Textile Today: What new innovations and technologies will you show in ITMA 2019?
Simona: Saurer is showing a range of new machinery, automation and digitization technologies as well as quality-determining components and services. We are also excited to be moving into new territory. Other highlights include the latest generation of the CompactTwister, a device-monitoring system for all ball bearings and a top-down embroidery solution.
