In the pandemic-induced surge in e-commerce spending, Shein the Chinese online womenswear retailer has become the largest fast-fashion retailer in the U.S.
According to a June report from Earnest Research Shein has now more app downloads in the U.S. than Amazon.

Shein comprised 28 percent of U.S. fast fashion sales when Swedish fashion giant H&M- 20 percent, Spanish bigwig Zara- 11 percent, American fast-fashion retailer Forever 21 was 10 percent.
Also, Shein surpasses US-based fast fashion retail company Fashion Nova was 8 percent, according to the report.
The Earnest Research report also said that the US fast fashion market also rose by 15 percent between January 2021 and mid-June, during which Shein grew by almost 160 percent.
It is also can be mentioned that the company constituted 13 percent of the overall fast fashion industry sales at the start of the year.
Besides that, Significant digital rise is being seen as one of the major factors for Shein’s growing popularity in the American fashion market.
Shein’s growth could be due to its mobile-first strategy, which might have caught on in a big way with US shoppers the report says.
Moreover, Shein presently serves more than 220 countries.
