Shongjog, Jyoti and Lindex distributed warm clothes and sanitary napkins among the people of Bom, Khumi and Murong tribes in remote areas of Bilaichari, Thanchi and Alikadam
Recently 400 pieces of blankets, 500 pieces of warm clothes (including sweaters, hoodies, pants and clothes for children) were distributed among the people of Bom, Khumi and Murong tribes with the participation of Shongjog।Connecting People, Jyoti (an open platform to talk about period) and Lindex (European fashion brand), initiated by Shongjog, a Facebook based online social working platform.

Also, 500 pieces of sanitary napkins were distributed among people from Jyoti. Besides, oxymeters were distributed to the tribal people from Shongjog.
The whole campaign was supervised by Engineer and Photographer Hasinur Reza Chanchal on behalf of Shongjog।Connecting People. Masrur Salekin, who has been working as a sessions judge, has contributed much as a co-ordinator.
On behalf of the UNO of the Thanchi Upozilla Torikul Islam, former union council chairman of Tindu union and member of the Khumi village were present on this event of warm clothes and sanitary napkin distribution.

Welcoming this initiative of Shongjog, the UNO Torikul Islam said, “This is the first initiative of distributing warm clothes and sanitary napkins in this remote hill tract areas. As a result of this initiative, the indigenous people will not only be able to protect themselves from winter, but also will be more aware of female health issues.” He thanked Jyoti on this female health awareness issue.
Masrur Salekin said about blanket distribution, “Shongjog।Connecting People has distributed 5000 pieces of blanket so far, and we are delighted to be a part of their activities. During natural disasters, the participation of everyone as well as the government makes the disaster management easier.”
Moreover, Chonchol, the Photographer, Engineer and the representative of Shongjog has informed, “Not only in Thanchi, Shongjog-Lindex-Jyoti have distributed blankets, sanitary napkins and oxymeters in Alikodom and Bilaichari. 500 pieces of blankets, 500 pieces of warm clothes from Lindex and 500 pieces of sanitary napkins will be distributed among the Khumi, Bom and Murong people in these three areas. Our aim is to work with these indigenous people on health and education for a long term. This campaign is a continuation of this aim. Bangladesh Army and BGB have also cooperated with us in distribution and transportation of these items.”
