Sparrow Group, Managing Director, Shovon Islam was nominated as the Chairman of the BGMEA’s Standing Committee on Press and Publicity for the year 2022-2023.
Faruque Hassan, President, BGMEA signed an appointment for the Standing Committee on Press and Publicity under the leadership of Shovon Islam for the year 2022-2023.
Shovon Islam has more than 20 years of extensive experience in the textile and apparel industry of Bangladesh. He was also honored as a member of the FBCCI standing committee on the RMG industry. Recently he was honored as CIP for export and trade.
With the efficient and visionary leadership of Shovon Islam (Shawn), Managing Director, Sparrow Group of Industries, the company has seen a very rapid but planned and sustainable growth in terms of revenue and product mixes.
Shovon Islam worked in Hewlett Packard (HP) for 20 years and also worked for Microsoft as Software Architect and Chief Technology Officer.
Sparrow Group is one of the pioneers in Garments Manufacturing in Bangladesh. Sparrow was founded in 1984 by Professor Dr. Mahzharul Islam, Professor Dr. Mahzharul Islam was an eminent educationist and organizer of the Liberation war of Bangladesh.
