The Sweden-Bangladesh Business Guide 2022-2023 aims at supporting both Swedish and Bangladeshi companies to further strengthen bilateral business and trade relations.

The Guide provides information about the overarching support systems and relevant entry points to doing business in Bangladesh, as well as the latest business-profiles and product-lines of Swedish companies operating in the country. For incoming new Swedish companies, the Business Guide introduces Bangladesh as a new investment destination and potential demand-driven market for cutting-edge Swedish products and services.

The event was held in a hybrid format that allowed for both in-person and online participation from the Swedish business community, Government representatives from both Sweden and Bangladesh, relevant business chambers, the diplomatic community and other relevant stakeholders.

In his digital welcome remark, the Swedish State Secretary for Foreign Trade and Nordic Affairs, Krister Nilsson, emphasized the importance of 2022 to Sweden-Bangladesh relations and also commended “Bangladesh’s potential as a business destination for the future”. The State Secretary further underlined the opportunity for even stronger commercial relations, not least in the areas of sustainability and green transition.

During the event several stakeholders commented on the future of Sweden-Bangladesh business relations, such as the Ambassador of Sweden to Bangladesh, H.E. Alexandra Berg von Linde, the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Sweden, H.E. Nazmul Islam, Ajay Sachdeva, the Director of India and South Asia at Business Sweden, Tahrin Aman, the President of the Nordic Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NCCI), and Nathalie Tranefeldt, the President of the Sweden Bangladesh Business Council (SBBC).

“Promoting sustainable business is high on the Swedish agenda here in Bangladesh. Swedish companies are well-placed to supply many advanced skills, goods and services that can contribute to Bangladesh’s dynamic path of sustainable development and economic growth,” said the Ambassador of Sweden, H.E. Ms. Alexandra Berg von Linde in her remarks.
