7th season of Textile Talent Hunt, TTH 2019-20 1st Campus Day Competition (CDC)has been launched at NITER
After the successful launching Textile Talent Hunt (TTH) 2019-20 on 24 November 2019, Textile Today started the Campus Day Competition (CDC) on 30 November. Campus Day Competition (CDC) will be arranged in a total of 10 different zones to get 100 transformation leaders for National Level Competition.
The 1st round of Campus Day Competition (CDC) has been completed at the National Institute of Textile Engineering and Research (NITER), Nayarhat, Savar, Dhaka on 30 November 2019.
As the part of competition flow, TTH 2019-20 will hunt 10 Campus Day Champion and 90 others Transformation Leaders from 10 zones of Campus Day Competition (CDC). In Campus Day Competition, the top 5 of each zone will receive an amount of prize money.
In the 1st Campus Day Competition (CDC) at NITER Sadab Mahmud, Textile Engineering, 3rd year, NITER became champion while Mehedi Hasan Apu, Textile Engineering, 4th year, NITER was the 1st Runner up and Md Rifatur Rahman Miazee, Textile Engineering, 4th year, NITER became 2nd Runner up. Tanvirul Hasnat Textile Engineering, 3rd-year NITER and Jubayer Ibn Haris, Textile Engineering, 4th year, NITER got the 4th and 5th position respectively in the Campus Day Competition.
Tahmid Shahriar, Ebnul Karim, Ishmam Al Sadi, Prama Mazumder and Ramisa Tabassum Shayeri students of NITTER were also selected as the transformation leader for the national level competition. In the CDC 171 students were registered from NITTER to be selected for National Level Competition and for CDC championship.
On chair Tareq Amin, Founder & CEO, Bangladesh Textile Today in the Campus Day Competition (CDC) Prof. Dr.Mohammed Mizanur Rahman, Principal NITER was present as Chief Guest while Major. Rtd. Sohel Ahmed, GM (HR, Admin & Compliance), 4 A yarn Dyeing Ltd (Team Group); Rezwanur Rahman, Director, Dysin and Shakawat representative from Hong Kong Nicca Chemical Ltd were as a special guest. Shafiur Rahman, Regional Operations Manager of G-Star Raw, was present as a transformation icon.
The prestigious judges’ panel consisted of A.K.M. Monjurul Haque, Lecturer NITER, Tushar Kumar Paul, Managing Director, Cods Clothing Co and representative of TTH Alumni, Major. Rtd. Sohel Ahmed, Team Group and Tareq Amin, Founder & CEO Textile Today.
The competition flow began with 40 marks of MCQ exam and the judges then selected the best 20 to proceed onto the second round for the audition program in the same day. The top 20 gave a brief presentation (for around 15 minutes) each and were subjected to a brief question and answer round by the judges’ panel.
Based on innovation, presentation and feasibility of the ideas the judge’s panel selected the champion and top 9 other Transformation Leaders (TLs) for the day.
Chief guest Prof. Dr.Mohammed Mizanur Rahman said, “The new look of TTH 2019-20 is the new journey to hunt 100 transformation leaders for the next decade of textile and apparel industry and I believe they will be able to adopt latest developments that coming constantly in the industry.”
Tareq Amin said, “Bangladesh Textile Today wants to engage each and every textile university so that students get equal chances to participate in this renowned competition to be next level, 100 transformation leaders.”
The other zones of Campus Day Competition (CDC) are scheduled to hold as TTH Primeasia University – 7th December 2019, TTH Dhaka City North (BUFT) – 11th December 2019, TTH BUTEX – 13th December 2019, TTH Dhaka Division (DUET) – 9th January 2020, TTH Chattogram Division (Port City University) – 11th January 2020, TTH Dhaka City Central (Southeast University) – 8th February 2020. 100 Transformation Leaders (TLs) will be trained, groomed and tagged with about 50 companies to develop the ‘Practically Tested Transformation Model’. Textile Today Training already declared BDT 30 Lacs scholarship for these 100 Transformation Leaders (TLs). Groomed TLs are expected to lead the sector in the future.
Textile Talent Hunt is an initiative of Bangladesh Textile Today. It is the ﬁrst ever talent grooming competition for the undergrad students studying in textile garments and fashion in different universities.
The program’s focus is to prepare future leaders who will be able to adopt the latest developments coming constantly in the industry. In this regard, Bangladesh Textile Today has been working to change the thinking and learning process of the textile-garment degree level graduate students through Textile Talent Hunt events since 2008.
