Textile Today Factory Tour to promote innovation and sustainability in the industry

In the last decade, Bangladesh textile and garment industry has seen significant growth. Eventually, factories also changed their mindset and culture gradually. Now the industry is working friendly more than ever and nonpareil manufacturing hub for the buyers also.

Still there are many improvement scopes in the industry and it always has. Right now the industry should more focus on innovation in process, production and management. To sustain the innovations, capacity and mindset of mid-level management those who will implement the innovations should take care of. If the mid-level management don’t take ownership, often such initiatives fails. On top of everything, top management should come forward and clinch such initiatives.

Team Textile Today is visiting factories to promote and make awareness about such initiatives. Textile Today is now functioning as an effective Innovation Hub, helping the industry to address innovation scopes and deal through a systematic approach.

Textile Innovation Circle Consortium (TICC) is a new initiative of Textile Today. TICC, a consortium for textile and apparel manufacturers, plays role as an executive platform. It drives innovations in a systematic approach.

TICC capacitates its partners to form a concentrated team to steer innovations. The platform equips the team with the innovation tools, techniques and other resources to build a sustainable innovation culture.

The consortium connects the Innovation Circles through required workshops, seminars and conferences to make the process effective and sustainable.

Innovation Circle is an objective driven team. It takes system improvement projects within department or cross department in function. It focuses on business sustainability for choosing projects.

The broad scopes can be

  1. Resource or cost optimization
  2. Process standardization
  3. SOP development
  4. Problem solving
  5. Increasing Profitability
  6. Sustainability etc.

Recently Textile Today Factory Tour team visited Meghna Knit Composite Ltd. Monjur Hasan, Director, Marketing & Business Development of Meghna Knit Composite Ltd. and his team shared their visions with the Factory Tour Team. He appreciated the initiative Textile Today Innovation Hub has taken.

Textile Today Factory Tour team visited M.M. Knitwear ltd. Established in 2001, M.M. Knitwear ltd. is one of the top knitwear manufacturer in Bangladesh. Anwar Hossain, General Manager, Marketing, Merchandising and Business Development attended a discussion session with Textile Today Factory Tour Team. He shared the current situation of the plant and their plan for future growth.

Textile Today Factory Tour team also visited Fakhruddin Textile Mills Ltd. (Urmi Group) to promote innovation. The team met Md. Ruhul Quddus, Head of Strategic-Business Unit (Textile) and Rahinur Islam Limon, Deputy General Manager (DGM). They shared their best practices and initiatives with Factory Tour team.

The Factory Tour team went to Square Denims Garments Unit. SK. Shamim Hasan, General Manager (Operations) of Square Denim Garments Unit has given some of the ground details of their vision, denim industry updates, and opportunity for Bangladesh to grab it.

Factory Tour will be a continuous drive of Textile Today to promote innovation. Textile Today is willing to share good practices, efforts towards sustainability, leadership building initiatives etc.
