Textile Youth Carnival 2.2 was held on 24th December, 2021 in Krishibid City, Savar by Textile Engineers Society to encourage the textile & apparel students and increase the industrial connection between them. The event was attended by senior officials from some of the most popular companies and institutions in Bangladesh; the central team and executive team of the Textile Engineers Society and about two hundred students from 25 textile institutes & universities of the country.
Exhibition arrangements were made to show how proficient a student is in addition to studying. The exhibition showcases various textile-related paints, handicrafts, digital artwork, photography, showpieces. The guests were impressed. There was also a CV booth, through which students would get benefits in the future job. Then comes the sports segment, where there were separate games for boys and girls.
Abdul Hakim, Chief Marketing Officer, Hoorain Hi-Tech Fabrics Ltd. a sister concern of Jamuna Group was present as the Chief Guest. The special guests were Eng. Azizul Hoque Milton, CEO, Vision Textiles Ltd; HTM Quader Newaz, Director, Standard Group and Treasurer, International Standard University; Engr Md Amirul Islam, Managing Director, Texsas Engineering Ltd; Mohammad Showkat Iqbal, GM-HR, Epyllion Group; Abul Bashar, DGM, Sawftex Ltd; Eng. Md Abdul Based Miah, Associate Prof. and Chairman, Textile Dept., International Standard University. Shawkat Hossain Sohel; Manager (CAD), Unifill Composite Dyeing Mills Ltd.
The second part of the program started after lunch. MD Rashid and Chaiti Debnath were host of the second part.
In his welcome address, Rifatur Rahman, Founder of the Textile Engineers Society said that the aim of the Society of Textile Engineers is to enable the students to enter the industry qualified and enjoy the benefits of the industry.
Abdul Hakim, Chief Marketing Officer of Hoorain Hi-Tech Fabrics Limited (Jamuna Group) spoke to the students about soft skills development and asked them to prepare themselves for the future. He added that Hoorain has always been with the Textile Engineers Society and will support in future also.
Azizul Haque Milton, CEO of Vision Textiles Ltd. discusses how to become a good entrepreneur and take the lead. He added that development is needed to survive in the competition in the textile sector.
Engineer Amirul Islam, Managing Director of Texsas Engineering Company Limited, said that there are many opportunities for textile engineers in Bangladesh. He then discusses in detail what kind of opportunities there are and how to take advantage of them.
Mohammad Shawkat Iqbal, General Manager (HR) of Epyllion Group, said that Epyllion Group is looking for the right and qualified people. He also gives an idea of what the job interview focuses on.
Engineer Md. Abdul Basid Mia emphasized the cooperative attitude between the industry and the university for the betterment of the textile sector.
Shawkat Hossain Sohel, Manager (CAD) of Unifill Composite Dyeing Mills Ltd., said the new generation wants to know how to rise fast, so he said they have to work with patience and dedication.
The event was presided over by Rifatur Rahman Miaji, Founder of the Textile Engineers Society and Chief Operating Officer, Morshed Ali.
