The Textile Institute Bangladesh section (TIBS) organized a ceremony to hand over certificates to the successful participants of the first batch of the training program ‘Introduction to Modern Dyehouse Management’. The program was developed by Textile Today in association with Park Associates, UK and has been implemented jointly by Textile Today and The Textile Institute Bangladesh Section.
The meeting was held at The Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Gulshan 2, Dhaka, on Saturday, 18th February 2017. Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor, BUFT, Chairman, TIBS welcomed the distinguished attendees to the program. The meeting was a good gathering of The Textile Institute members, trainers, trainees and distinguished personalities of the textile and allied industries.
Distinguished participants hailed the initiative of introducing dyehouse management training program by The Textile Institute and Textile Today. They agreed upon the necessity of training for the professionals. Representative from DBL Group, one of the Premium

Corporate Members of The Textile Institute Mr. Zahidullah stressed that Bangladesh is having enormous opportunities and only we need skilled manpower. He hoped that such training program will serve the sector supplying right human resources. Khurshid Alam Rimon, Team Manager, Decathlon said “Every professional person must have professional level training”.
Among other distinguished attendees M R Jamil Tipu, Executive Director, Akij Group and Sazid Rahman from H& M hailed the initiative of dyehouse management training and requested to extend a separate dedicated program for woven fabric processing. Professor Syed Fakhrul Hassan, Chairman, Department of Textile Engineering, Southeast University encouraged The Textile Institute to continue such activities.
The program has opened the book published with the training program titled ‘A concise introduction to business and technical management in the textile wet processing industry’. The book is being used as training manual of the program. The book is written by James Park and Kevin Park of Park Associates, UK. Distinguished members of The Textile Institute opened the book.
15 participants from different industries and institutions took part in the training program. They have received their certificates in the ceremony. Among the trainees Md. Ziaur Rahman, Senior Manager, AKH Knitting & Dyeing Ltd expressed that the training program was indeed useful to him. Abu Shahadat Mohammad Saim, General Manager- Dyeing Finishing, Minar Industries (Pvt.) Ltd. mentioned that the program was a unique opportunity to share and learn from the experiences of the participants and the trainers. Mustak Ahmed, Deputy Dyeing Manager, Tosrifa Industries Limited expected that the training program will assist him moving forward in his career. He expressed his gratitude to the Tosrifa Industries Limited authorities for sending him in such an effective training program.
At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Dr. Engr. Ayub Nabi Khan described about The Textile Institute establishment, working areas and opportunities, he also requested to all to be a member of Textile Institute. After that he introduced the Textile Today Bangladesh as a knowledge society & the development activities of Textile Today that plays important role in Textile sector in Bangladesh over the past 10 years.

human capital of Bangladesh & how to improve this great resource by proper planning and training. He urged companies to allocated expenditure budget for transforming human capital into more value adding then today. He expressed his confidence that training program like ‘Certificate in Dyehouse Management’ is to help creating real experts here in Bangladesh saving foreign currency being spent behind foreign experts. He also informed that this training program is the first The Textile Institute accredited training program in Bangladesh.
The training program is being run by a pull of experts. The certificate handover ceremony was organized by the courtesy of Fabpro Specialties Ltd., a Harris & Menuk company. The company is one of the Premium Members of The Textile Institute.
