1. Heimtextil Frankfurt 2014

Heimtextil is the biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles and the global benchmark for quality design textiles of innovative functionality. As the first trade fair of the year, Heimtextil, which is held on four fair days in January, is a platform for manufacturers, retailers and designers. The event includes a fashion show and the grand finals of the SDC International Design Competition 2013 and CSI Colour Award 2013. The event will bring together an international line up of leading designers, brands, retailers, universities and students. The fashion show, which is being organised by SDC EC (the Indian region of the SDC), will showcase the work of fashion and textile design students from leading Indian colleges and universities. It will be attended by designers, brands and retailers, and provides a neutral platform for the students to display their work to future employers. It is planned that this will become an annual event.
The event also hosts the grand final of the SDC International Design Competition 2013. This competition, which is open to fashion and textile design students, asks the students to demonstrate the creative, imaginative and original use of colour in either fashion or textiles.
7.IWTO Wool Round Table

8. 7th Aachen-Dresden International Textile Conference

The conference program is divided into three parallel sessions. The two-day session "Sustainability and Productivity" will foreground chemical aspects of fibers, textiles and composite materials. Furthermore, recent developments on electro-functionality in textiles will be presented as well as new applications of textiles in medicine and health care.
On the first day of the conference, the IGF-ZIM transfer event "From Idea to Practice" will take place as a third parallel session, being organized by Forschungskuratorium Textil e.V. Participants will be introduced to a selection of successful examples of products and methods developed in joint effort by researchers and industry representatives and implemented by the industry. During the conference, they will also have a look beyond the rim of the "textile teacup" to related fields of research.
