TTH gets best 50 for the year 2015

Textile Talent Hunt (TTH) is an example how a narrow river can change the life style in the dessert and how a ray of light can make a difference in sheer darkness. An initiative of Bangladesh Textile Today organized in association with Bangladesh University of Textile, Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) & The Textile Institute (TI) has changed the thinking, targets and learning process of the textile-garment degree level graduate students. The competition jolts a huge community of students and is changing their approach towards their future life. They have started to love the techno trade changes and developments as they were introduced with those in a very interesting systematic way. Textile professionals of tomorrow are going to rock the industry with this changed approach. Number of students has got the right method of research and is undergoing research or dealing their study activities with a very new approach. After successful completion of TTH 2009, TTH 2010, TTH 2012 & TTH 2013 the organizer has started the 5th season of Textile Talent Hunt with larger coverage and larger focus.

This time Asutex, Spain is the title sponsor of TTH 2015. Other partners of TTH 2015 are: Prize Money Sponsor- DYSIN CHEM, Sponsors- Eco Color Chem, Sameet Dye Chem, Research Partner- National Institute of Textile Engineering & Research (NITER), Knowledge Partner- AUDACES, Forum Partner- Knowledge Based Textile Community (KBTC), and Grooming Partner- Talent Hub.

After Covering 26 textile institutions with relevant promotional campaigning, a written test taken in different venues all over Bangladesh in the same date and time. This time the organizer took the written test in Dhaka, Feni, Pabna & Khulna. More than 500 students from different campuses around Bangladesh participated at the written test. Based on the written test Bangladesh Textile Today selected 50 talents. After publishing the result talents are called for final registration. ASM Tareq Amin, Editor & Publisher of Bangladeh Textile Today and Member Secretary of the TTH competition organizing committee, brief the best 50 on their project planning and way out of the project work.

He took a lot of question from TTH best fifty talents and encouraged them to share their idea, knowledge to make a perfect project. Then Mr. Amin said why TTH authority kept a research project within the selecting processes, answering all question based on talents query and then gave an idea how to make an ideal project. He mainly showed the possible avenues how the talents could utilize this renowned platform (TTH) to prepare and present them in the job market. “Being a competition, we have to drive away some project but students should have to continue those types of research work for their self development as well as industry,” he said. Finally, he said, written test is a part to select an ideal candidate for the TTH competition but the final competition has now started only and all of the 50 has there opportunity to be the Champion of TTH 2015. After completing the final registration, the talents are requested to submit a project plan based on their interest. The organizer will conduct some training sessions to give a guide line to the talents. TTH best fifty, fresh members of TTH family will get an opportunity to meet with TTH alumni. Alumni will share their experiences of project work with the new talents.

“Topic selection for the final project, choosing mentor or project supervisor, making a proper plan; all through we got clear idea how we need to proceed now” mentioned Rifat Jahan, one of the best talents selected from Bangladesh University of Textiles.
Md. Ashaduzzaman from Dhaka University of Engineering & Technology scored the top position of the list. He expressed his determination in keeping the position until the end. ‘I know this is going to be very tough, but I am determined to put my all effort in it,’ said Mr. Assad while talking to this reporter.
BTT observed that this talent hunt competition expands a great impact on the textile community. Many senior teachers and top industry people admired this initiative of A & J Corporation Ltd., the house of Bangladesh Textile Today. They think that this initiative can be the best milestone to make a knowledge based textile community. TTH is not only about a test, it is becoming a society to forward with a new approach of making change. It is being reported that TTH graduates are smarter, more pragmatic, reasonable, intelligent and adoptable to changes.

Earlier the organizer successfully completed 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th season of Textile Talent Hunt in 2009, 2010, 2012 & 2013 and now those talents are working in the sector with great reputation. From previous four seasons, more than 150 research papers have been received and 20 of them have been published in renowned international magazine ‘Bangladesh Textile Today’. Some of them are still under development process.
Now these 50 best undergrad level textile-engineering students will work on a specific topic to do some research to come up with a project paper or a new design or new software. The judges’ panel assesses the papers and select best 20 paper for oral test. After assessment of the thesis/project paper, finally best five will be selected. The top five has to present their papers in the Grand Finale in front of local & foreign delegates. After that, finally the judges’ panel will declare Champion, 1st runners up & 2nd runners up. Champion, 1st runners up & 2nd runners up are awarded BDT 50,0000/-, BDT 30,000/- & BDT 20,000/- respectively along with crest, certificates, different gifts, training packages etc.
