‘Golden country of golden fiber, jute product’s of Bangladesh’ holding this theme, Tangail Textile Institute (TTI) celebrated ‘National Jute Day-2018’ on Tuesday (March 6). About five hundred students wearing jute clothes & carrying various banners, placards, and festoons with eye-catching slogans
brought out a colorful rally. Engr Md Anamul Haque, Principal, Khadem Zilani, Instructor, Shamsul Alam, Instructor, Prodip Chandra Ghosh, Junior Instructor, teachers of all departments, officials & staffs were present there. The rally completed the main road of Tangail city and ended on the campus.
Later in a brief discussion, the speakers highlighted the importance of jute products, its versatile use, the export of jute in the international markets, education in jute production and various aspects. ‘We are working relentlessly to revive the past glory of the golden fiber, the pride of Bangladesh,’ said Mr. Anamul.
According to the policy decision of the cabinet division on January 30 last year, the National Jute Day is being observed across the country on March 6. It is to be noted that, Tangail Textile Institute (TTI) was established in 1911, the British era to develop efficient human resources for textile industry. At present, the country’s only one Diploma in Jute Technology degree course is running in this institution along with Diploma in Textile Engineering.
