Recently, Turkiye retail sales volume increased by 5.5 percent year on year (YoY) in June this year versus 20.8 percent on an annual basis in May, according to Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat).
However, sales slowed down in June on a monthly basis after rising at the fastest pace in a year in May, and retail trade declined by 0.7 percent in June in the country on monthly basis.
Non-food sales, excluding automotive fuel, increased by 11.4 percent in June compared to the figure from a year ago. Automotive fuel sales fell by 11.8 per cent annually in the month and automotive fuel sales dove 9.6 percent month-on-month in June.
As per the TurkStat, the nation’s total turnover jumped by 129.8 percent in June compared to a year ago, fueled by strong growth in the industry, construction, trade and services sectors.
The largest annual rise was seen in the services sector, surging 167 percent, was followed by industry with 133.5 percent and trade with 118.7 percent.
