The two-day International Investment Summit 2021 was initiated yesterday at a hotel in Dhaka with the goal to brand Bangladesh among global investors.
The 18 and 19 November summit theme ‘Bangladesh: Discover Limitless Opportunities’ will have 14 separate sessions, of which 11 will be dedicated to different sectors that includes apparel, leather and leather goods.
Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) hosted the summit. And some 2,574 registered to attend the investment summit. Participants can join the summit both in person and virtually.
On the first day, some 465 foreigners – international investment firms joined.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the summit around 10 am.
Salman Fazlur Rahman, the Prime Minister’s Private Sector Development and Investment Advisor, said to the media that Bangladesh is witnessing increasing interest of investors from an expanding range of countries that are considered to be potential sources of investments.
Rahman stated investors from Scandinavian countries, for example, are voicing their interest in Bangladesh.
Among the high-profile, Saudi Arabia’s Transport and Logistics Minister, Vice-Minister of their Ministry of Investments, and a top business delegation have attended the summit.
Among the audience members of the Turkish investors’ community, besides those from the USA, Europe, and Asian countries to attend the investment summit, while virtually, ministers from India, China, and Japan would address the audience.
