Two new companies commit to the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Programme, to implement safer chemistry practices to protect consumers, workers, and the environment.
Sohan Industries Ltd and Fineotex Chemicals Ltd are the Contributors from India in the Chemical Value Chain segment.
Sohan Industries is a leading manufacturer of organic pigments and dispersions in India. Sohan is fully backward integrated to manufacture pigment powders required for pigment dispersions with the latest technology of grinding and testing equipment, thus establishing “ORION™” as a leading brand in Asia. They cater to the textile, paints, paper, crayons & art colors, and geotextiles industries.
Fineotex is a specialty textile chemical manufacturing public listed company with FDA-approved plants in India and Malaysia, producing 43,000 tons of auxiliaries and supplying to over 69 countries. It has a JV with BioTex Malaysia, a bluesign partner.
Finetox has been listed on NSE/BSE since 2011. These two chemical companies join 7 other chemical companies from the South Asia region as ZDHC Contributors.
This will help to further strengthen the acceleration of sustainable chemistry in the textile and leather supply chain.
“We look forward to their proactive contribution and expertise in shaping and driving the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme,” said Prasad Pant, Director- South Asia
