Ulusal Sistem Belgelendirme Ltd. (USB), a Turkey-based certification body of ‘International Organic Accreditation Service’ (IOAS) has recently declared its new Asian operational office ‘USB Asia’ at Uttara, Dhaka. In the official inauguration of ‘USB Asia’, Chairman Nesrin Serin of USB along with her team from Turkey were present.

From 2019, USB Asia will start its operation in all the Asian countries from Bangladesh. Rasel Parves, Regional Manager of USB Asia acknowledged it as a great achievement for Bangladesh textile industry. Many industrialists, textile leaders and professionals were present at the seminar.
Services and activities of USB are System Certification, Food Product Certification, Agricultural Product Certification, Textile Product Certification, Inspection, Hygiene Audits, Supplier Audits, Personnel Certification, and USB Academy. In the textile area, USB has been accepted regarding Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Textile Exchange (TE) Standard related to following scopes by IOAS Accreditation body;
GOTS
- Certification of mechanical textile processing and manufacturing operations and their products.
- Certification of wet processing and finishing operations and their products
- Certification of trading operations and related products
- The release of positive lists of chemical inputs (s.a. dyes and auxiliary agents) to the chemical industry
TE
- Organic Content Standard (OCS)
- TE Recycled Claim Standard (RCS)
- Global Recycled Standard (GRS)
Factories should focus on sustainability and R&D on how to increase the use of the recycled product.
Nesrin Serin, Chairman of USB handover the GRS certificate to ACS Textile BD Ltd. for their successful footprint in recycling. Md. Ruhul Alam Sharif, General Manager (Compliance) received the certificate on behalf of ACS Textile BD Ltd. Sultan Suleiman Restaurant, Uttara and Captain Barista, Uttara both also received the ISO 9001-2015 certificate in the food category.

Md. Sayeed Hasan, Auditor of USB Asia discussed briefly about the Transaction Certification (TC) and its necessity for the textile manufacturers in his speech.
